Prince Leopold Island has been called ‘the crown jewel’ of Canada’s Arctic seabird colonies. Spectacularly situated at the mouth of Lancaster Sound, this site is legendary for its diversity of species, its long history going back to the early 1970’s, its treacherous cliffs, and the many great folks who have called this magical place home for a season - or a decade - and contributed to what we know about murres, kittiwakes and fulmars.
